coming right back

I started a new job last week, and I'm way behind on my blog reading, so here's me trying to catch up like usual.
Mr. Chop - "Zoid"
"Zoid" is about as dark and sinister a mood piece as you can get, with droning synths sorta like Thomas Bangalter's "Paris by Night", but with the beat moving double-time.

Speaking of things dark and sinister, Blaqstarr and M.I.A's cover of "Way Down in the Hole" is an exciting bit of bleak and soulful/soul-crushing goodness:

Tobias Hellkvist & Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words - "White/Grey/Black" / Twenty-five minutes of drone via the It's A Trap! website. Read all about it over here.
The Cool Kids - "Delivery Man (9th Wonder Remix)"
Tronic and The Renaissance dropped in the span of a week, and then this gorgeous 9th Wonder remix of "Delivery Man" by the Cool Kids. I feel like I'm getting spoiled here . . . which, of course, I am totally okay with.

Black Milk - "Try"
Q-Tip - "Gettin' Up"
Lastly, there's a couple of great songs by an extinct band called Gigi over at StG. Check them out before they're gone.
Labels: 9th wonder, black milk, blaqstarr, dead letters spell out dead words, M.I.A., mr. chop, q-tip, the cool kids, tobias hellkvist
